Job description

AI Initiatives Assistant
Kaufman Dolowich is a full-service National Law firm with more than 250 attorneys across 16 offices and over 25 practice areas. We are actively seeking a motivated, tech-curious individual to support our firm-wide AI initiative. This is a hands-on opportunity to work directly with the Chief Information Officer and other leadership on real projects involving Microsoft 365 Copilot, AI agents, and emerging legal-tech workflows. No prior professional experience required, just genuine interest in AI and a willingness to learn.
This part-time role is ideal for someone in school, a recent graduate, or someone early in their career looking to build a portfolio of practical AI experience within a professional services environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Support adoption and training efforts for Microsoft 365 Copilot across 400+ firm users
  • Help build, test, and document AI agent workflows and prompt templates across multiple platforms, including Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Power Automate, and LLMs such as ChatGPT and Claude
  • Assist with research into new AI tools, vendors, and capabilities relevant to legal services (including evaluating and comparing different LLM providers)
  • Help develop proofs of concept and pilot AI solutions for attorneys and business professionals
  • Assist in exploring Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) approaches using internal knowledge sources
  • Help research AI governance, security, privacy, and compliance considerations as the firm expands AI use
  • Help track adoption metrics and prepare simple usage reports/dashboards
  • Support the firm's AI Innovation Lab and internal Agent Hackathon initiatives
  • Assist with drafting and refining prompt libraries for firm-specific use cases (e.g., legal correspondence, coverage analysis, matter intake)
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for AI rollout schedules and training sessions
  • Act as a first line of friendly support for staff learning to navigate new AI workflows or encountering unexpected AI outputs
  • Document processes and create simple how-to guides for end users
  • Other duties as needed to support firm operations

Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field preferred)
  • Genuine interest in AI/LLM tools (ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Azure AI Foundry, etc.) - coursework, personal projects, or self-directed learning all count
  • Comfortable learning new software quickly; basic proficiency with Microsoft Office/365
  • Strong written communication skills - able to write clear instructions and documentation
  • Detail-oriented and organized; able to manage small projects with light supervision
  • Curiosity and initiative
  • High level of professionalism and respect for data privacy and security guidelines

Benefits:
  • Flexible schedule and hours (20 - 25 hours per week)
  • Growth opportunities
  • Professional team-oriented environment
  • Potential hybrid work arrangement

Hourly Rate - $25 - 30 per hour
