Location: This is a hybrid position based from our New York City office located in the Hudson Yards.
What you'll build
As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer (Associate), you will begin your journey building AI-native enterprise solutions alongside experienced engineers while working directly with customers. You will contribute to real-world AI implementations, rapidly learn enterprise technologies, and help deliver production-grade AI applications across SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP AI Core, and cloud-native environments.
This role is ideal for engineers who are passionate about software engineering, Generative AI, and solving customer problems through hands-on development.
In this role, you will:
  • Develop application features and AI-powered capabilities under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Build backend services, REST APIs, and frontend components for enterprise AI applications.
  • Develop AI agents using LLMs, RAG, MCP, tool calling, and agent orchestration frameworks.
  • Integrate SAP systems, enterprise APIs, databases, and external services into AI solutions.
  • Support deployment on SAP BTP, SAP AI Core, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.
  • Participate in customer workshops, discovery sessions, demos, and implementations.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
  • Debug production issues and improve reliability and performance.
  • Contribute reusable components and documentation.
  • Continuously learn emerging AI technologies.

What you bring
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, IT, or related discipline.
  • Strong Python programming fundamentals.
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering.
  • Basic understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings, and RAG.
  • Exposure to LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, or similar.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, Git, Docker, SQL/NoSQL.
  • Basic Kubernetes, cloud, and CI/CD understanding.
  • Exposure to SAP BTP, SAP AI Core, or Joule is a plus.
  • Strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and communication.

Nice to have
  • AI/ML internship or academic projects.
  • Exposure to vector databases and knowledge graphs.
  • Experience with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
  • Open-source or hackathon participation.
