Responsibilities
- Circulate and scrub for complex adult cardiac cases, including CABG, TAVR/TAVI, Bentall, and minimally invasive valve procedures
- Support heart failure patient procedures (e.g., VAD/ECMO/Artificial Heart) and, when applicable, transplant-related cases
- Collaborate with surgeons, perfusionists, anesthesiologists, and the multidisciplinary OR team to ensure safe, efficient patient care
- Maintain sterile technique, manage intraoperative equipment, and monitor patient status with telemetry as needed
- Document intraoperative events, assist with equipment and tray management, and support efficient OR turnover
Requirements
- Active RN license in New York
- Minimum 2 years of operating room experience; level 1 trauma OR experience preferred
- Ability to independently circulate and scrub for cardiac cases
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Telemetry knowledge or demonstrated ability to monitor telemetry in the perioperative setting
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts in a high-acuity OR environment
