Data scientists on H1B visas typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a related field and work in roles involving data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling. The H1B program is competitive, with annual caps and application deadlines, and selection is often through a lottery system. Employers must sponsor the visa, and the process involves both government filings and potential prevailing wage requirements.

To navigate these challenges, it's important to work closely with your employer’s HR and legal teams, stay organized with documentation, and proactively seek out networking and mentorship opportunities within your organization.
