Job description

Cyber Security Testing (Data Analyst), Principal Associate

As a data analyst in Cyber's Security Testing organization, you will help advance the newly formed Cyber Frequent Issues Risk Mitigation (C-FIRM) program. C-FIRM identifies and addresses vulnerability trends across the enterprise, partnering closely with Offensive Security and Application Security teams. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing data delivery and extraction from multiple data sources, and presenting the data in various forms to different audiences. You will also help refine a process to identify and prioritize vulnerabilities and work with partners and stakeholders to implement better detective and preventive measures earlier in the Software Development Lifecycle.

You should have experience with traditional and modern technologies such as Databricks, Python, relational databases, Snowflake, Shell scripting, and AWS. You will be asked to create, enhance, and optimize visualizations that are used by our business customers and internal leaders to include insights and alerting for Cyber vulnerability risk mitigation. You will also help build a communication strategy and provide a more comprehensive view of Cyber vulnerability risks across the lines of business, helping drive down risk for the enterprise.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and interpret best practices and metrics to develop reporting dashboards and risk management tooling to identify cyber vulnerability risk trends and analytics
  • Work closely with Offensive Security and Application Security teams to analyze data and make recommendations
  • Utilize reporting tools to build and maintain dashboards used by tech and leadership teams
  • Drive analysis that provides meaningful insights on Cyber vulnerabilities and risks
  • Investigate possible use of machine learning models to drive delivery of discovery insights to customers
  • Understand data sets, and be able to effectively communicate their context and nuances
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 3 years of experience working in cybersecurity or information technology
  • At least 2 years professional data analysis experience
  • At least 1 year of experience utilizing Tableau or AWS QuickSight
  • At least 1 year of experience scripting in Python
  • At least 1 year of experience in SQL
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience working in Application Security, Offensive Security or Vulnerability Management
  • 2+ years of experience creating automated solutions
  • 1+ years of experience using relational database systems and database management tools
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidateโ€™s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
