Bakery Manager
The Bakery Manager is responsible for effectively directing and supervising all functions and activities of the Bakery Department and its associates to achieve the departments goals (i.e. sales, production, profitability, customer service, and employee engagement).
The Bakery Manager will ensure the daily success of the bakery operations and lead the bakery team in achieving new goals and overcoming obstacles. This position must communicate and work together with all members of the bakery team, store management, and ownership to ensure that everyone is kept in the know and engaged in their work. This position reports to the Store Manager and play a critical role within the culinary management team.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Emphasize to all department employees that customer service is their primary responsibility.
  • Reinforce to all department employees that each customer is the most important customer.
  • Establish and maintain food handling and hygiene standards and procedures for all department employees.
  • Manage the daily operation of the department employees.
  • Supervise all department employees.
  • Train department employees to carry out daily responsibilities according to their individual job assignment and department procedures.
  • Responsible for setting daily priorities for department procedures.
  • Establish and maintain standard department procedures.
  • Prepare weekly work schedule. Interview prospective department employees and make hire/not hire recommendations to store manager.
  • Meet individually with department employees as needed regarding on-the- job performance, and discuss/follow up with store manager and/or H.R.
