Job description

The Housekeeping Associate is an essential member of the Gold's Gym team. They ensure that all areas of the facility-including gym floor, locker rooms, offices, and common spaces-are consistently clean, safe, and welcoming for members. The role includes performing a variety of cleaning duties, maintaining equipment and supplies, and supporting the overall member experience.
Facility Cleaning & Maintenance
  • Clean outside glass and interior mirrors.
  • Wipe down equipment, doors, and floors as needed.
  • Empty trash receptacles daily.
  • Sweep and mop floors, stairwells, and staircases.
  • Clean carpets and hard-surface floors as needed.
  • Clean fitness equipment thoroughly.
  • Clean bathrooms, including tiles, tubs, walls, sinks, and mirrors.
  • Dust furniture and fixtures daily.
  • Clean management offices daily.
  • Mop and sweep lobby floors.

Locker Room Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, remove trash, and dust locker rooms.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms & locker rooms.
    • Toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors
    • Showers and floors
    • Refill soap, paper towels, toilet paper.
  • Clean out lint and maintain general tidiness.
  • Buff locker/lobby room floors as needed.

Equipment & Supply Maintenance
  • Clean Maintain and organize cleaning tools such as mops, brooms, and vacuum cleaners.
  • Ensure equipment is kept in good condition and stored properly.
  • Clean vacuum cleaner bags or canisters daily.
  • Stock carts with linens and supplies, keeping them organized according to training guidelines.

Other Duties
  • Pick up debris on carpets and perform vacuuming as needed.
  • Report maintenance or repair issues accurately and promptly.
  • Collaborate professionally with gym staff and management.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of three (3) months' experience in housekeeping or janitorial services.
  • Three (3) months' customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience in hospitality or health clubs is a plus.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Skills & Competencies
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Must be able to work as part of a professional and cohesive team.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to push/pull cleaning carts and equipment.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, wet or slippery floors, humidity, and locker room environments
  • Use of personal protective equipment as required.
