A GXMO, or General X-ray Machine Operator, is a healthcare professional trained and licensed to operate basic X-ray equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients. GXMOs work under the supervision of radiologic technologists or radiologists, primarily performing routine X-rays in clinics, urgent care centers, and physician offices. Their responsibilities include preparing patients for imaging, positioning them correctly, operating X-ray machinery, and ensuring radiation safety protocols are followed. GXMOs play a vital role in assisting physicians with diagnosing and monitoring medical conditions using imaging technology.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a GXMO (General X-ray Machine Operator), and why are they important?

To thrive as a GXMO, you need a solid understanding of radiographic principles, anatomy, and safety protocols, typically obtained through a state-approved training program and GXMO certification.
