Part Time/Full-Time
Job Summary
The Gunsmith is responsible for modifying and repairing firearms and overseeing the administrative tasks of the gunsmith department.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide gunsmith services including, installing and adjusting sights, trigger jobs, cleaning, muzzle breaks, stock pinning, magazine pinning, cleanings, and basic to major diagnosis and repairs of firearms
· Maintains a service schedule to ensure minimal downtime
- Answers e-mail and voicemail inquiries regarding services
- Assists customers with questions regarding services available, pricing, etc
- Ability to safely handle all firearms when checking into or out of gunsmithing as well as test firing
- Utilize BoundBook to properly acquire and dispose of firearms
- Tracks firearms waiting for service, in queue for service, and ready for check out
- Ensures all services are priced appropriately and parts / labor are paid for in accordance with company policy
- Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean work environment
- Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements
- Knowledge of company’s mission, purpose, and goals
· Ability to operate all department equipment in a safe and efficient manner
· Thorough knowledge of the facilities Security policy and procedures
- Stay current on product knowledge, general firearms laws and safety procedures
- Dress appropriately for position adhering to facility dress code
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
· Technical/mechanical certification or gunsmithing degree preferred
· Ability to use the necessary tools required to complete specific jobs
- Great Customer Service, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and eye for perfection in work
- Ability to learn skills and techniques from experienced Gunsmith
- Must be able to multitask
- Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others
- Complete a bi-annual shooting qualification
- High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information
- Must pass background check
- Must be 18 years or older
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regularly required to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Regularly required to use hands
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms
- Regularly required to bend, stoop, kneel
- Occasionally required to lift objects greater than 20 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus
- The noise level in the work environment usually is moderate, and occasionally high
