Senior Principal Interior Designer in  Beverly Hills, CA


Unique Skills:

This is a onsite position reporting to our Beverly Hills location.

Must be a motivated self starter able to work indepentently and in a fast paced team environment.

Salary range for this position is $135,000 to $160,000.

 
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Interior Design or related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 8 years experience in interior design or related field include two (2) years experience in project or process management. Position Purpose: Serve as Interior Design leader for new and refurbishment projects guiding Owners through the Interior Design Process to capture their requirements and preferences. Lead a team of designers to produce flexible, comprehensive, multi-media designs for Owners and prospective clients. Translate information into a contractually binding Materials Package consistent with the Outfitting Definition Process, the Aircraft Sales Agreement and product offerings. Collaborate with Completion & Delivery Executive and Completion & Delivery Associate as the Owner's advocate.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  1. Communicate and present to Chairmen/CEOs of Fortune 500 companies and high net worth individuals .
  2. Represent the GAC brand with professionalism and instill confidence within the Owner .
  3. Lead Owner through the definition process and oversee material selections for Completion Package approvals, ensuring materials meet FAA and durability requirements, are available and within budget. Document contractual waivers and acknowledgments, timeliness of presentations, and ensure appropriate application are within the Principal Designer's purview .
  4. Execute Owner signature approval of the Materials and Styling Package and countersign all documents to finalize contract .
  5. Understand benefits, limitations, and comparative architecture and material application between models and maximize retention of standard content .
  6. Monitor completions to ensure the aircraft is completed to Gulfstream quality standards. Ensure aircraft anomalies, damage or potential schedule impacts are reported .
  7. Supervise the Completion Package .
  8. Author, release and manage material finish schedule and other internal documents required. for accurate aircraft definition. Archive and maintain all documents and communication that supports the final Completion Approval Package .
  9. Participate in Completion Package reviews, Completions Operations status and Owner validation meetings .
  10. Collaborate with the Completions and Delivery Executive to develop quotations and pricing. Maintain budget and obtain quotes as applicable .
  11. Lead in cultivating an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their differences and are motivated to improve their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results .
  12. Foster relationships with Owners and their Teams to advise and provide design guidance to Owner for their aircraft needs post-delivery through the Customer Support Organization .
  13. Manage consultants to ensure adherence to project timeline, Owner expectations, Gulfstream warranty, and FAA protocols .
Additional Functions:
  1. Supervise, lead, train, and mentor staff. Report aircraft design status to management .
  2. Exemplify an exceptional completion and delivery experience for Owner (L1) and assigned team .
  3. Lead a cross site team effort and/or departmental continuous improvement objective .
  4. Must be willing to travel worldwide on short notice and to provide support outside of normal hours .
Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements:
  1. Proficiency of design principles, color theory, and textile and leather production techniques required..
  2. Knowledge of FAA regulations relating to interior finish requirements required.
  3. Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  4. Foreign language proficiency preferred.
This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
