What You'll Do (Your Territory, Your Playbook)
This territory blends long-standing customer relationships with high-growth opportunities tied to the Gulf Coast's industrial landscape. You will:
  • Represent North Shore Steel and the full SSC Group across Southeast Texas and Louisiana.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with fabrication shops, OEMs, refineries, EPCs, and contractors.
  • Visit customer sites regularly, from Port Arthur turnarounds to Lake Charles fab shops to Baton Rouge industrial corridors.
  • Identify new opportunities, expand market share, and close business in structural steel, plate processing, Wearalloy (abrasion plate).
  • Provide technical guidance on steel applications, plate processing, and value-added services.
  • Maintain a strong field presence through regular travel, including overnight stays at 30% of the time.
  • Attend industry events, Gulf Coast tradeshows, customer appreciation days, and local networking events.
  • Work closely with inside sales, estimating, and operations teams to ensure smooth handoffs from quote to delivery.
  • Gather market intel on pricing trends, competitor activity, mill lead-times, and customer demand.

Who You Are (Your Make-Up)
  • Comfortable traveling throughout SETX and Louisiana, including overnight trips.
  • 3-10 years of experience in industrial B2B sales, steel service centers, fabrication, or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel, plate products, and value-added processing (burning, rolling, CNC, forming, etc.).
  • Skilled at building relationships in industrial environments, from plant managers to shop supervisors to procurement teams.
  • Organized and disciplined in managing your pipeline, activity, and follow-through.
  • Proficient with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or hands-on industry experience that speaks for itself.
