Position Summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform maintenance operations in the of all Bexar County in Texas. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, concrete repair, tree and brush removal, pothole repair, heavy equipment operations, and etc. as well as adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

Technicians will report to project yard located in Adkins, TX.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 0-2 years of related experience in maintenance, repair, or installation of Guardrail, Cable rail, or Crash Cushion
  • Roadway or tollway maintenance experience
  • Concrete form work, concrete placement, and repairs
  • Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, ForkLift, etc operator

Responsibilities:
Work as a part of a team performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance. MUST be flexible and able to work on-call and nights when necessary. Highway maintenance tasks include, but not limited to:

  • Tree and brush removal
  • Pothole repair
  • Sign repair
  • Guardrail repair
  • Heavy equipment operations
  • Hand rail installation
  • Incident response

Preferred Experience:

  • Roadway maintenance or construction experience
  • MOT Certifications
  • Traffic control

Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check
Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
  • Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
  • Carry out simple arithmetic functions
  • Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
  • Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
  • Ability to use smart phone and applications
  • Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
  • Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate hand/power tools

Schedule:
Full time. 7am-5:30pm. M-Thurs Must be flexible and available to work on-call when required. Day shift & Night shift needed.
Salary: Depends on licenses, certifications & experience.
