MUST HAVE A VALID VIRGINIA DCJS UNARMED SECURITY OFFICER LICENSE

Applicants without a current Virginia DCJS license will not be considered for this position.

Position Overview

Sentry Force Security is seeking professional, dependable, and customer-service-oriented Unarmed Security Officers for multiple client locations throughout Hampton Roads.

Our assignments may include office buildings, public facilities, residential communities, shopping centers, libraries, clinics, industrial properties, and other professional environments.

We are looking for officers who are reliable, professional, observant, and able to work independently while representing both Sentry Force Security and our clients with professionalism.

Full-time and part-time positions are available.

What You'll Do
  • Maintain a professional and visible security presence
  • Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, and surrounding property
  • Conduct foot and vehicle patrols when required
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, and policy violations
  • Assist employees, visitors, residents, customers, and vendors
  • Respond appropriately to incidents, disturbances, and emergencies
  • Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident reports
  • Follow client policies, post orders, and company procedures
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and emergency personnel
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment
Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid Virginia DCJS Unarmed Security Officer registration/license
  • Ability to successfully complete required background screening
  • Ability to successfully complete required drug screening
  • Reliable transportation
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong communication and observation skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred:

  • 1 year of security experience
  • Military or law enforcement experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Patrol experience
  • Report writing experience
  • De-escalation and conflict-resolution experience
  • Experience working in public, commercial, residential, or professional environments

We have a variety of assignments and schedules available, including:
