Job description

Outside Roofing Sales Representative

Company: Proclaim Roofing & Restorations
Location: Memphis, Tennessee and surrounding areas
Job Type: Independent Contractor / 1099
Estimated Earnings: $75,000–$150,000+ annually
Compensation: Paid door-knocking training plus uncapped net-profit sharing

About Proclaim Roofing & Restorations

Proclaim Roofing & Restorations is expanding its Memphis operation and looking for competitive, coachable and self-motivated Outside Roofing Sales Representatives.

We help homeowners identify storm-related roofing damage, understand their replacement options and navigate the insurance restoration process. Our representatives receive hands-on field training, leadership support and a clear opportunity to increase their compensation based on performance.

This is not a desk job. The ideal candidate is comfortable working outdoors, knocking doors, speaking with homeowners, generating leads and following projects from the initial conversation through completion.

Compensation Plan

Paid Door-Knocking Training

New representatives receive $20 per hour during the initial two-week training period for scheduled door-knocking and field-canvassing hours only. Hourly pay does not apply to office meetings, roof inspections, customer appointments, independent prospecting or other activities unless approved in advance by management.

Training includes:

  • Door-to-door prospecting
  • Lead generation
  • Customer introductions
  • Roof-inspection basics
  • Storm-damage identification
  • Roofing and insurance terminology
  • Customer follow-up
  • Proclaim’s complete sales process
  • Starting Net-Profit Share

Representatives begin at 25% of the net profit generated from each completed roofing project during their first 90 days.

Project profit is calculated after approved direct job expenses are deducted, including:

  • Materials
  • Labor
  • Permits
  • Disposal fees
  • Subcontractor expenses
  • Other approved job-related costs

A 10% company overhead deduction is then applied before the representative’s net-profit share is calculated.

Commission Example

If a completed project produces $10,000 in profit before the overhead deduction:

  • 10% company overhead deduction: $1,000
  • Remaining net profit: $9,000
  • Representative’s 25% net-profit share: $2,250

There is no cap on earnings.

90-Day Performance Review

After the first 90 days, representatives may become eligible for an increased net-profit-sharing percentage based on performance.

Performance considerations include:

  • Total sales production
  • Door-knocking and lead-generation activity
  • Closing percentage
  • Customer communication
  • Accuracy of paperwork and documentation
  • Project follow-through
  • Attendance and reliability
  • Professionalism
  • Compliance with company systems and procedures

Any increase is performance-based and is not automatic or guaranteed.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new residential roofing opportunities through door-to-door prospecting, referrals, networking and follow-up.
  • Speak professionally with homeowners about roofing concerns and storm-related property damage.
  • Schedule and assist with property and roof inspections.
  • Document visible damage with photographs and accurate notes.
  • Present recommended roofing and restoration solutions.
  • Help homeowners understand the general insurance restoration process without acting as a public adjuster.
  • Follow up consistently with leads, customers, insurance representatives and internal production staff.
  • Maintain accurate customer information, project notes and required documentation.
  • Attend required sales meetings, training sessions and field activities.
  • Represent Proclaim Roofing & Restorations with professionalism and integrity.
  • Follow each project from the initial lead through contract signing, production and completion.

Qualifications

  • Previous outside sales, roofing, solar, pest control, automotive, insurance, home-improvement or door-to-door experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competitive, self-motivated and comfortable with performance-based compensation.
  • Willingness to work outdoors and knock doors consistently.
  • Ability to climb a ladder and safely access residential roofs when properly trained and authorized.
  • Ability to manage multiple customers and maintain consistent follow-up.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Smartphone with reliable service.
  • Ability to pass applicable background-screening requirements.
  • Willingness to operate as a 1099 independent contractor following the initial training period.

Commission Payment

Net-profit sharing is paid after:

  1. The customer signs all required agreements.
  2. The insurance scope or retail contract is finalized.
  3. The project is built and completed.
  4. Proclaim Roofing & Restorations receives all required customer and insurance payments.
  5. Final project expenses, overhead and net profit are verified.

Payment timing may vary based on insurance processing, supplements, customer payments, material availability and production scheduling.

What We Provide

  • Paid door-knocking and field-canvassing training during the initial two-week training period.
  • Roofing and storm-damage sales training.
  • Ongoing sales coaching and leadership support.
  • Inspection and customer-presentation support.
  • Company-branded marketing materials.
  • Clear advancement and increased profit-sharing opportunities based on performance.
  • Uncapped income potential.
  • Opportunity to grow with an expanding roofing operation.

Ideal Candidate

You may be a strong fit if you are competitive, dependable and motivated by an opportunity where your income reflects your performance.

This role is especially suited for someone who:

  • Enjoys meeting new people.
  • Is not afraid to knock doors.
  • Can handle rejection without losing momentum.
  • Follows up until a clear decision is made.
  • Wants greater control over their income.
  • Is willing to learn the roofing and restoration industry.
  • Wants an opportunity to earn six figures through consistent production.
