ABOUT THE ROLE

Coordinate Liquid Products’ Food Safety and Regulatory compliance and audit activities to ensure that the Division and GSF’s objectives for food safety and regulatory mandates and compliance meet or exceed Regulatory Agency’s requirements. Provide guidance and support to the day-to-day activities of technicians to ensure operations and compliance with GSF, customer, and regulatory agency standards for food and packaging quality and safety and enhance product development.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Quality Management – Review and enhance suppliers’ programs to ensure quality, food safety and consistency for all products produced.Arrange and/or conduct facility audits, product mock recovery, administer non-conformance products, and participate in operations testing of new and/or modified products.Assist Product Development in specification development, enhancement and revisions.Constantly fill in and perform all the responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Manager in the absence of the incumbent.
  • Manages the Liquid Products Food Safety program; complete HACCP documents for new products, review HACCP verification documents from Operations, and conduct quarterly HACCP training to all GSF Associates .
  • Conduct yearly review and update of HACCP document for all products.
  • Conduct monthly in-house HACCP and GMP audits; and assure that corrective actions are followed through.
  • Coordinate the set up, preparation and participation in all third-party audits. Maintain professional interaction with all third-party auditors and regulatory agencies. Also assist in follow up of corrective actions from the audit findings.
  • Periodically participates in Quality Assurance pre-operational inspections, contribute updated information on sanitation programs, chemicals, and suppliers to ensure verification of the sanitation program.
  • Oversees all pest control activities, including overseeing the activities of the Pest Control Provider.
  • Follow laboratory safety policies and company policies, procedures and standards for safety, GMP’s and HACCP).
  • Enter and analyze data to present in a professional and useful format to the appropriate personnel.
  • Technical Support – Provide technical support to Product Development and Operations in conducting process capabilities, Quality Assurance standards, quality procedures, food safety, and food security requirements. Participate on cross-functional teams as Quality Assurance liaison.
  • Quality Enhancements of Ingredients/Packaging – Support and provide needed assistance in the implementation of comprehensive ingredients and packaging materials receiving, evaluation and tracking programs.
  • Perform any special assignments as shall be assigned by plant management team.
WHAT YOU'LL NEEDEducation/Certification:
  • BS Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or other technical disciplines.Additional Management or Technical education are preferred.
Experience:
  • 5 - 8 years in Quality Assurance or related technical discipline (in a Senior Technician or management capacity) in the Food Industry.5+ years in QA and/or Manufacturing capacity preferred.
Training/Other:
  • Knowledge of Sanitation GMP, HACCP, SSOP, SPC, and Food processing.Sanitarian Certification, Knowledge of ISO 9000, and Project Management preferred.
