GSE Operators ensure that all equipment functions safely and efficiently to facilitate smooth airport operations. They must follow strict safety guidelines and communicate with other ground crew members to prevent delays and hazards.

What does a typical workday look like for a GSE Operator at an airport?

As a GSE Operator, a typical workday involves operating and maintaining various ground support equipment to service aircraft, such as towing planes, driving baggage carts, and using belt loaders. You’ll start your shift by performing safety checks and may work closely with ramp agents, maintenance crews, and other operators to ensure all tasks are coordinated efficiently. Depending on flight schedules, shifts can be fast-paced with periods of high activity, especially during aircraft arrivals and departures. Teamwork, punctuality, and a focus on safety protocols are essential throughout your day to keep airport ground operations running smoothly.
