Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Project Manager. This position is located in Roy, UT. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You'll Get To Do:

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating supplier meetings and travel with Support Equipment OU and GSC personnel.

  • For example: build organized calendar events for travel.

  • Tracking event dates (SI, prood loads, deliveries, etc) and reporting back to Support Equipment OU.

  • Brief status on all Support Equipment POs.

  • Build metrics out this data.

  • Keep trackers and metrics updated.

  • Ensure all PO actions are progressing (RCIs, SMRRs, others) from an NG and Supplier perspective.

  • Develop/fill out NCAJs, SOWs, etc to cover all Support Equipment scope (with inputs from managers).

  • WPL responsibilities for all material.

  • Find creative solutions to improve schedule/cost of material.

  • Have in depth procurement and/or GSC knowledge.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 Years with Bachelors; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD; an additional 4 years may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.

  • Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project).

  • Working knowledge of Project Management principles.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.

  • At least five years of experience in leading projects or cross-functional teams.

  • Experience in briefing executive leadership.

  • Proficiency in Atlassian tool suite.

  • Advanced Excel Skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active U.S. Government DoW/DoD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain Secret security clearance.

  • Background working in or with Global Supply Chain to include managing PO's/PR's, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

  • Current/Active Special Program Access (SAP) or ability to obtain SAP clearance.

  • PMP Certification.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization and with outside organizations.

  • At least 2 years of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.

  • Demonstrated experience using SAP, Windows software packages, Atlassian Tool Suite, and other electronic databases.

  • Proficient in Agile Development.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities.

  • Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations.

  • Ability to provide and implement solutions to advanced problems which require ingenuity and innovation.

  • Capable of working with minimal direction, independently determines and develops technical objectives of assignments, and presents work upon completion for high level review.

  • Experience leading other Project Managers.

  • Familiar with knowledge and understanding of general project management principles.

Primary Level Salary Range: $101,400.00 - $152,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
