The Systems Administrator 2 will administer and support daily operational requirements of computer network systems in a classified environment with SIPR (Secret Internet Protocol Router) connectivity. This role includes managing workstations, file servers, and web servers while maintaining strict security protocols required for classified operations.
Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!
  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems in classified SIPR environment, including coordination with network administrators
  • Installs and configures hardware, software, and system upgrades for classified systems
  • Manages network accounts and enforce network security protocols specific to classified environments
  • Manages Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, File Server, Key Management Server, and other core IT services.
  • Implements and maintains network security tools including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection services
  • Sets up administrator and service accounts while maintaining system documentation
  • Tunes system performance and install system-wide software
  • Allocates and manages mass storage space
  • Provides backup and recovery coordination
  • Trains staff on software applications applicable to their positions
  • Monitors system configuration (hardware and software)
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
  • Evaluates vendor products and make recommendations for hardware and software purchases
  • Provides technical assistance to customers with information technology issues
  • Maintains detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures and changes

Requirements: I have already done that or have it!
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems with 3 years of professional experience in systems administration OR
  • Master's degree in related field with 1 year of relevant experience
  • Security+ or other Cyber Workforce (CWF) certification(s) required
  • Current or Active U.S. Secret clearance (must maintain throughout employment)

Preferred Requirements
  • Prior experience performing systems administration in a classsified space
  • Security+ or other certifications allowing personnel to maintain Cyber Workforce (CWF) credentials
  • Experience with MS Windows OS and Red Hat OS
  • Experience supporting the installation, configuration and maintenance of physical and virtual servers
  • Familiarity with STIGs, Nessus, and the RMF process
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A+ certification and/or related hardware/software experience.

Physical Requirements
  • Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the Systems Analyst discipline.
  • Ability to lift physical desktop computers and rack mounted servers and other equipment.
