What is a growth strategist?

Growth Strategists are professionals who develop and implement strategies to help businesses expand their market presence, increase revenue, and achieve sustainable growth. They analyze market trends, identify new opportunities, and recommend actionable plans for scaling products or services. Growth Strategists often work closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to align efforts and maximize results. Their role is critical for companies looking to accelerate their business and outpace competition in dynamic markets.

How does a growth strategist typically collaborate with marketing, product, and sales teams to drive company growth?

A Growth Strategist plays a central role in connecting marketing, product, and sales teams by identifying growth opportunities and ensuring alignment on strategy. They often facilitate cross-functional meetings, analyze data from multiple departments, and develop experiments or campaigns that require input from each group. This collaboration helps to ensure that product features are market-ready, marketing campaigns are targeted effectively, and sales strategies are data-driven. Clear communication and a collaborative mindset are essential for success in this role, as Growth Strategists often bridge gaps between different teams to achieve shared growth objectives.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a growth strategist, and why are they important?

Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, CRM platforms like HubSpot or Salesforce, and A/B testing suites is typically required. Exceptional communication, creativity, and adaptability are standout soft skills for crafting and executing innovative growth initiatives. These skills and qualities are essential for identifying opportunities, driving scalable strategies, and ensuring sustained business expansion.

Job description

As a Strategic Growth Manager, you will be at the center of our growth strategy, directly responsible for driving net-new revenue across our company-owned brokerages, which may include Coldwell Banker, Sotheby's International Realty, Corcoran, and Compass. You will partner with top-producing real estate agents-true CEOs of their own businesses-and influence them to grow their business with us.

In this role, you will work alongside an incredibly high-performing and driven team, with colleagues coming from diverse and rigorous backgrounds including investment banking, management consulting, law, and enterprise sales. You'll operate in a uniquely high-impact environment-our Strategic Growth Managers (SGMs) are conservatively generating 15x more revenue per head than top global tech firms, driven by the strength of our market, talent, and business momentum.

What You'll Do

- Drive strategic growth by identifying, engaging, and structuring deals with top-performing real estate agents and teams, expanding our presence within your market.
-Position our value proposition including technology, marketing, culture, and growth platform.
-Build and manage a strong pipeline with a consultative and relationship-driven process.
-Develop deep market expertise and maintain a strong local presence.
-Collaborate with leadership, agents, and cross-functional teams.

What This Role Offers

-Work directly with decision-makers for faster, high-impact conversations.
-Engage in a highly consultative, human sales process requiring high IQ and EQ.
-Build trusted relationships with high-performing professionals.
-Operate with high autonomy and ownership over your success.

How You'll Be Measured

This is a quota carrying role measured by revenue attainment. Deal sizes range from $75K to $5M+ with an average 30-day sales cycle.  Revenue is measured by agent, team and brokerage production volume.

Location

Based in our Portland, OR office, this onsite, market-facing role will have you engaging clients in the field while collaborating in person with local teams and agents.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Proven success in a quota-carrying role
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-Self-starter with strong judgment
-Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities
-Track record of high performance

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is $100,000-$110,000 annually, with a target bonus of $30,000-$60,000 and uncapped bonus potential. We provide a full range of benefits and compensation may include equity. Base pay is based on market location.
