Job description

Recess is where the everyday takes a break.
Opening in Fall 2026, Recess Hotel & Club is bringing a new kind of hospitality to the heart of Savannah. Housed within the historic Manger Building, Recess blends a 221-room lifestyle hotel with a members club, rooftop pool, French brasserie, wellness club, coworking spaces, and lively social venues-all designed around one simple idea: life is better when there's room to play.
Recess is the newest project from Left Lane, the team behind Hotel Bardo Savannah. In just one year, Bardo has earned Condรฉ Nast Traveler's inaugural Triple Crown distinction-recognizing hotels that have achieved the publication's Hot List, Gold List, and Readers' Choice Awards-along with the inaugural Michelin Key designation and recognition from Travel + Leisure as one of the Best New Hotels of the Year. It's this same commitment to thoughtful hospitality and unforgettable experiences that we're bringing to Recess.
We're building more than a hotel. We're building a team of people who believe great hospitality is thoughtful, personal, and a little unexpected. Whether you're welcoming guests, creating memorable meals, keeping the operation running seamlessly, or leading a team, every role helps shape the Recess experience from day one.
If you're curious, collaborative, and excited by the opportunity to build something from the ground up, we'd love to meet you.
Find and seek. Stay here, play here. Welcome to Recess.
About the role
Our team at Recess Hotel & Club is looking for a warm, composed, and service-driven Spa Host to be the welcoming face of Saltgrass Spa. This is a front-of-house role at the intersection of guest relations, scheduling, and spa coordination. The Spa Host is the first and last impression a guest has at Saltgrass - setting the tone for the entire experience from the moment of booking through the moment of departure. The ideal candidate is a natural connector who communicates with ease, manages complexity without showing it, and creates an environment where every guest feels individually known and looked after.
This is an on-site position at Recess Hotel & Club in Savannah.
What you'll do
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all guest arrivals, departures, and in-spa needs at the Saltgrass front desk
  • Greet and welcome all guests with warmth and professionalism - whether arriving for a circuit visit, a treatment, or a first-time inquiry
  • Orient guests to the wet circuit - sauna, steam, cold plunge, and experiential showers - providing a confident, knowledgeable introduction to the circuit flow, protocols, and any guidance specific to their visit
  • Manage all spa reservations and scheduling via Book4Time, including individual bookings, couples appointments, retreat packages, and group reservations
  • Provide pre- and post-appointment communication to guests - confirmation, preparation guidance, and follow-up
  • Assist guests in selecting services and retail products, offering informed recommendations based on genuine product knowledge across all Saltgrass brand partners (Lesse, Codage Paris, Figaro Apothecary, Corpus Naturals)
  • Process retail transactions, gift cards, and spa packages at point of sale
  • Coordinate treatment scheduling with the therapist team to ensure seamless room-to-room transitions and no service gaps
  • Handle guest feedback and concerns with composure and immediacy - escalate to the Spa Manager when appropriate
  • Maintain organization and visual presentation of the spa reception area, retail boutique, and product displays
  • Assist with retail inventory management and restocking in coordination with the Spa Manager
  • Maintain awareness of all spa promotions, seasonal offerings, and brand partner activations
  • Collaborate with Recess Hotel front desk, F&B, and concierge teams on guest crossovers and hotel-wide coordination
  • Support fitness activation scheduling and communication as needed
  • Assist the Spa Manager with administrative tasks, reporting, and special projects

Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in a spa, luxury hotel, or guest-facing hospitality role preferred
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills - written and verbal
  • Proficiency in or willingness to learn spa reservation software (Book4Time experience a strong plus)
  • Genuine interest in wellness, skincare, and the Saltgrass brand philosophy
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Professional presentation and grooming standards consistent with a luxury wellness environment
  • Composure and grace under pressure - peak periods are busy; the guest should never feel it
  • Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and evening shifts

Why Recess?
Build something from the beginning.
  • Join the opening team behind one of Savannah's most anticipated lifestyle hotels and help shape the guest experience from day one.

Take care of yourself.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and wellness benefits for eligible full-time team members
  • Company-matched 401(k) with fast vesting
  • Up to 20 days of paid time off, paid holidays, and a paid birthday
  • Complimentary daily team member meal

Experience the brand.
  • Complimentary two-night stay at Hotel Recess & Club Savannah
  • Team member discounts on dining, Saltgrass Spa treatments, retail, and The Cooking School at Saint Bibiana
  • Complimentary fitness classes

Travel farther.
  • Employee rates at select Leading Hotels of the World properties
  • Discounts at Highgate hotels worldwide

Grow with Left Lane.
  • Referral incentives and guest recognition programs
  • Career development opportunities across a growing hospitality portfolio
  • The opportunity to help shape one of hospitality's most exciting lifestyle brands
