Goforth Williamson, Inc, 373 Odell Road, Griffin, Georgia, United States of America

Job Description

Company: Goforth Williamson

About Us

In February of 2004, two mechanical engineers teamed together to form Goforth Williamson, Inc. With over 30 years of rotating equipment experience between them, Travis and David focused on developing GWI into a customer-oriented service company. Since that time, GWI has grown to a company with over 50 full-time employees. The employees of GWI are specialists in their fields. They have a vast knowledge of pumping equipment and the applications they are used in. The employees have experience from Original Equipment Manufacturers, motor shops, contractors, machine shops and other rotating equipment repair facilities.

  • Serving as the primary on-site leader for the Controls Department, overseeing daily operations across engineering, field service, panel shop, and inside sales
  • Identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks before they escalated, and developing repeatable processes to prevent recurrence
  • Providing direct supervision, mentorship, and performance feedback to department employees, many of whom have been promoted into their current roles as the company has grown
  • Acting as the primary point of escalation for internal issues so that the VP of Controls can remain focused on business development and strategic priorities
  • Coordinating with other departments (pump sales, pump repair, field service) to ensure cross-functional alignment on shared customer projects
  • Tracking key department metrics - project status, lead times, open orders, and service commitments - and reporting regularly to the VP of Controls
  • Establish accountability for performance, deadlines, and quality
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 6+ years of experience in an operations, project management, or department management role, ideally in an industrial, electrical, or engineered-products environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams across multiple functional areas
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities and keep multiple workstreams on track simultaneously
  • A natural problem-solver who takes ownership, follows through, and brings calm and clarity to a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working in a technical environment - prior experience with control panels, VFDs, electrical systems, or the water/wastewater industry is a plus but not required
  • Proficiency with project management or operations tools (experience with Smartsheet, ERP systems, or similar platforms is a plus)
  • Excellent communication skills - you will be the connective tissue between frontline staff and senior leadership
LOCATION & SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, on-site position at our Griffin, GA facility. Regular in-office presence is required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Specific compensation will be discussed during the interview process.
