Description
The purpose of this classification is to perform work functions associated with delivery and warehouse activities. The person in this classification will load/unload trucks and drive delivery truck to deliver merchandise to customer's home or business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Drives truck in assigned zone or area to deliver products purchased by customer; ensures safe operations of vehicles by assisting delivery truck drivers with directing trucks into unloading areas.
  • Loads truck in preparation for daily deliveries; unloads merchandise at customer location and sets up as necessary.
  • Obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
  • Records deliveries on delivery record and submits to appropriate management.
  • Monitors proper maintenance of and regular inspection of vehicles for adherence to safety practices; performs general maintenance of vehicles; records fuel/fluid usage and submits to management.
  • Unloads merchandise from warehouse and freight trucks.
  • Maintains cleanliness of store/warehouse interior and grounds and upholds the company's Delivery Standards.
  • Places stock on shelves or racks and sets up merchandise and sales promotion displays.
  • Assembles merchandise as required.
  • Assists with repossessions of goods.
  • Performs general maintenance and grounds keeping duties for warehouse and/or store.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED; six months experience in a distribution or warehouse environment; or any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Must possess and maintain a valid State Drivers License and have a general familiarity with the delivery area. Must be able to meet DOT requirements (examples: Medical Examiners Certification and Driver's DOT qualification file).
