JOB DESCRIPTION
Job title: Grounds Maintenance
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Maintenance - URV
Reports to: Director of Maintenance
Classification: ( P )
Position summary: Works with a team that is responsible for the all the grounds and general maintenance duties. Works cooperatively and respectfully with residents, coworkers, families, visitors, and volunteers to create a positive and pleasant environment in the homes and office. Promotes the residents' psychosocial well-being through meaningful relationship building. All tasks are performed in accordance with current standards, policies, guidelines and regulations and in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential skill and experience:
  • Minimum of one year of maintenance and/or grounds maintenance experience.
  • Must execute maintenance and repair in accordance with policies and procedures and current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern long-term care facilities to assure a safe facility and environment.
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations, and communicative skills; auditory and visual skills; satisfactory completion of post-offer, pre-employment as required
  • Must follow systems and controls to ensure compliance according to State standards
  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan.

Preferred skills and experience:
  • Experience in electrical, heating and cooling, plumbing and carpentry preferable.

Reporting to this position: No Direct Reports
Essential duties:
  1. Coordinate with the Grounds Maintenance team to accomplish beautification and maintenance of the grounds.
  2. Perform general grounds maintenance and upkeep.
  3. Assist with general maintenance and repairs.
  4. Coordinate maintenance work with other departments.
  5. Paint and perform minor carpentry and repair work.
  6. Perform all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves, and proper disposal of soiled materials.
  7. Performs other related duties as assigned.

  2. Supports the vision, mission and values of Uplands Village.
  3. Maintain required records and reports as outlined in the Policies and Procedures of the Maintenance Department.
  4. Must coordinate with Director of Maintenance and Executive Director to ensure effective standards.
  5. Fully understand all aspects of residents' rights, including the right to be free of restraints and free of abuse. Responsible for reporting incidents or evidence of resident abuse or violation of residents' rights, following abuse procedure.
  6. Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each resident in the delivery of services to them. Interact with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment. Comply with HIPAA-Privacy Rule regulations.
