Job description

As a working Supervisor, you and your team keep our grounds looking sharp year-round. You make sure landscaping/maintenance requests get done on time and in a quality way. During warmer months, you also oversee seasonal crews and contractors. You report to the Association Manager and work in cooperation with the maintenance team, as well as with the resident-led Maintenance Committee. You communicate often and courteously with Tamarack residents and contractors.


Your duties:

  • Organizing the Association's grounds and landscaping projects
  • Helping develop Association and resident landscape plans
  • Scheduling and coordinating landscape replacement projects
  • Ensuring that grounds equipment is well maintained
  • Hands-on landscape maintenance, such as edging and mulching beds, trimming/removing shrubs and small trees, replacing when needed, and trimming growth from wooded areas.
  • Regrading soil, seeding lawns, planting and maintaining new plants, weeding/watering common area flower beds, fall gutter cleaning.
  • Rebuilding and maintaining rock walls.
  • Performing snow removal from private sidewalks and in front of garage doors
  • Coordinating, evaluating and overseeing staff and contractor snow removal from city sidewalks and trails
  • Ensuring the snow removal equipment is well maintained
  • Supervising, training, and hiring grounds technician


Required: Minimum high school education or equivalent. Ability to lift 70 pounds from the ground to waist level. Skilled in the use of a hand tools and gas-powered pruning equipment. Minimum of 2 years' experience in grounds maintenance. One year of prior experience directing of grounds work crew. Good communications skills. Familiarity with tree, shrub and flower varieties, as well as well as their selection and care. Ability to drive bobcat/skid steer. Must pass background and driver's record check.
