Job description

Citizens Health is looking for a groundskeeper to work full-time in our plant operations department.

About Us: Citizens Health is a community based, private, not-for-profit organization. It is comprised of:
Citizens Medical Center - a 25 bed critical access hospital,
Family Center for Health Care - an outpatient rural health clinic,
Prairie Senior - a skilled nursing facility,
Citizens Clubhouse - an onsite childcare center that cares for children 6 weeks to school age for our workforce,
Citizens Medical Equipment - our durable medical equipment business,
Palace Drug Store - our outpatient pharmacy.

Days/Hours: Typically Monday-Friday 8AM to 4:30PM.
Pay Range: Dependent upon experience.
The groundskeeper will report to the Plant Operation Manager
What you'll do:

  • Mow grass.
  • Trim and weed.
  • Clean and paint parking lots.
  • Assist in ensuring guest and co-worker safety and security by reporting any suspicious or unusual behavior or occurrence to the appropriate supervisor on duty, and informing security.
  • In the course of normal duties, to observe, report, or take immediate corrective action on deficiencies, malfunctions, and untidiness.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience operating small farm tractors, riding lawn mowers and other powered and unpowered yard care equipment.
  • Maintenance experience helpful.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Typical Working Conditions:
  • Requires sitting 40% of the time to mow with riding lawn mower. Requires standing/walking 60 % of the time to do push mowing, trimming, painting of the parking lot, etc., there is considerable reaching, stooping, bending, and kneeling. Manual dexterity; normal vision and hearing, with or without correction, which is adequate for all types of interpersonal communications are required.
  • Exerts 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally to push/pull and moves/lift heavy equipment or supplies.
  • Mostly outdoor work. Manual labor is required. Exposed to sun, heat, noise, dust, and other weather extremes. Working with power equipment and lawn chemicals is required.
