The Opportunity:

Your ability to translate real-world needs into technical specifications makes you an integral part of delivering a customer focused engineering solution. If this sounds like you, come join Booz Allen Hamilton's Space Sensing Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) team to work on the Military's space programs.
As a ground systems engineer on our team, you will work with Booz Allen colleagues, your team, and the Military to develop and deploy the next generation of Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) ground systems capabilities to deliver critical information to our warfighters to quickly win or even prevent future wars. Your client will trust you to develop Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), mission protection documentation, technical assessments, integration plans, verification plans, and digital mission and system models for satellite ground systems. You will grow your skills by researching new requirements, technologies, and threats and using innovative engineering methodologies and tools to create tomorrow's solutions. You will grow your team to be the best they can be.

You Have:
  • 10+ years of experience supporting DoD weapon systems acquisitions or systems engineering
  • 5+ years of experience performing systems engineering analysis and developing systems engineering products for satellite systems or ground systems for Command and Control and Data Processing
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams of at least 5 people
  • Experience communicating and coordinating between the client, your team, related teams, and leadership
  • Experience with the development of technical specifications, interface control documents, ground architectures and designs, integration plans and schedules, and test plans
  • Experience with authoring requirements and managing and developing testable criteria, system validation and verification, and analysis
  • Knowledge of network architecture
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience in modeling, simulation, or analysis of RF Systems, including Space-to-Ground and Payload Systems
  • Experience performing systems engineering, integration, and testing on space-based remote sensing systems, including SBIRS, Next Generation OPIR, FORGE, STSS, HBTSS, DMSP, WSF-M, and EWS
  • Experience with planning and executing program reviews throughout the life cycle of the system
  • Experience using a Model-Based Systems Engineering approach to manage system definitions and technical baselines
  • Knowledge of satellite ground system design, cloud architectures, DevOps and DevSecOps, software frameworks, communication and networking, data processing, exploitation, and dissemination, space system operations and tasking, mission planning, space-ground integration, or space system factory support
  • Knowledge of DoD 5000.01 and 5000.02
  • Knowledge of systems engineering standards, including IEEE 15288.1 and IEEE 15288.2
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Master's degree in an Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science field
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification, including ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
