Job Title: Ground Support Equipment Mechanic

Location: FRCASE SERF NAS Lemoore, CA

Task Description:

GROUND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT MECHANICS, BLS N/A, SCA 23380

Function: Diagnoses malfunctions and repairs Ground Support Equipment (GSE), advises and trains lower grade workers on diagnosis and repair of less complex repair/maintenance problems, inspects and approves completed maintenance actions, solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications; uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions, and analyzes, diagnosis, and repairs GSE using conventional and digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools. This mechanicmaintains external fuel and grounding systems, performs scheduled and unscheduledmaintenance on GSE, inspects, tests, and operates GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation, services equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air, diagnoses mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications. This work also does the following: disassembles and assembles malfunctioning GSE accessories and components, removes, disassembles repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion, assembles, and reinstalls GSE components and accessories, stencils and marks GSE in accordance with technical publications, stores, handles, labels, uses, and disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations. This mechanic preparesGSE for storage and mobility deployment; and operates, cleans, inspects, and services GSE towing vehicles. In addition to maintaining vehicle records, this mechanic maintains, and updates paper and electronic equipment records, provides dispatch service for GSE, including positioning equipment to 77 support aircraft maintenance and flying operations, practices good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times.

Required experience: At a minimum four (4) years of experience in inspection maintenance,repair and modification of powered ground support equipment.

Required education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Compensation

$36.79/hour

Other Compensation

Employees will receive a health and welfare fringe benefit of $7.50 for every hour paid up to 80 hours per pay period.

Employees are offered medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in KAI's 401k plan. Employees accrue bi-weekly from the first week of service 5.54 hours of PTO. KAI employees at SERF NAS Lemoore, CA will have 12 paid holidays.

Employment is contingent on (a) your ability to provide appropriate proof of your identity and eligibility to work in the United States; (b) your references and any background check being satisfactory to the Company; (c) you successfully passing a pre-employment drug test; and (d) your ability to get a required clearance by your effective start date, if needed; and (e) KAI commencing performance on this contract.
