Job Summary
Promote Safety and Health Program - to prevent injuries and illnesses from work related causes, and to minimize losses of material resources and interruptions from accidental occurrences. It is directed toward the control of all types of hazards encountered in the performance of on the job duties.
Responsibilities
Safety & Health Awareness: Distribute read and signs, bulletins and posters for location and discuss new procedures with station personnel.
Accident Prevention: Perform safety audits on warehouse and ramp operations and provide feedback to management. Issue safety warnings/tickets as preventable measures
Safety Monitoring: Attend safety committee meetings and provide feedback to management. Review station audits, review station incidents/accidents/injuries, review station statistics to determine areas of improvement, stimulate hourly personnel involvement in the safety culture, and distribute safety awards as established in company guidelines, accident/Incident Reporting, Investigation, & Analysis, assist with all incident/accident/injury reports.
Work with Regional Director to ensure all reports are followed up with corrective action to prevent re occurrence, work with training department to identify deficiencies in safety and OJT training, identify thru the audit system deficiencies in the areas of new hire and OJT training and establish procedures for follow up training due to incident/accident.
Retrieve import/deliver export documents to and from aircraft.
Minimum Requirements
  • HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Minimum typing speed of 30 WPM.
  • Reports to work on a regular and timely basis.
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age if position requires driving cargo handling equipment.

Preferred Skills
  • Ability to concentrate on detail.
  • Ability to learn PC skills and apply knowledge.
  • Ability to handle the stress of a fast-paced eight-hour shift.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs. No exceptions.
  • Ability to step up to an above ground level.
