Job description

Aosom Canada is a leading eCommerce retailer specializing in home, garden, outdoor, pet, and fitness products. As part of our continued growth, we are launching a new 220,000 sq.ft. distribution center in Calgary, Alberta, scheduled to become operational in November 2026.

We are seeking an experienced and hands on Warehouse Manager to join our team ahead of the warehouse launch. This individual will play a critical role in setting up warehouse operations, developing processes, training teams, and ensuring a successful go live. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing large scale warehouse operations and is capable of building a warehouse operation from the ground up.


This position is expected to start prior to the warehouse opening in November 2026 and will participate in training, warehouse setup, operational planning, and launch preparation activities.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in the setup and launch of Aosom's new 220,000 sq.ft. Calgary distribution center.
  • Assist with warehouse layout planning, racking installation, equipment selection, and process implementation.
  • Develop and maintain warehouse SOPs, workflows, and operational standards.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, put away, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and returns.
  • Manage warehouse staffing, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Lead and motivate warehouse supervisors and associates to achieve productivity and service goals.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and ensure proper stock control procedures are followed.
  • Ensure all customer orders are shipped accurately and on time.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and cost control.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and warehouse best practices.
  • Manage warehouse equipment, facility maintenance, and operational resources.
  • Track and report key warehouse KPIs and implement corrective actions when necessary.


Qualifications

  • Fast learner with very strong technical and logical thought
  • Proven work experience as a warehouse manager
  • 5+ years experience in a warehouse managerโ€™s role
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
  • Experience with retail / ecommerce warehouse operation
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Hands on experience with warehouse management ERP software and databases
  • Leadership skills and ability manage staffs
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • BS degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration
  • English and Mandarin will be an asset
