Ground Operations Coordinator information

What is a ground operations coordinator?

Ground Operations Coordinators are professionals who oversee and manage ground activities related to aircraft operations at airports. They are responsible for coordinating aircraft turnaround, ensuring safety procedures are followed, supervising ground handling staff, and communicating with pilots, air traffic control, and airline management. Their role is essential to ensure that flights depart and arrive on time, baggage and cargo are handled properly, and all ground services are conducted efficiently and safely.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a ground operations coordinator, and why are they important?

To excel as a Ground Operations Coordinator, you need strong organizational skills, knowledge of airport safety regulations, and often a relevant degree or aviation-related certification. Familiarity with ground handling equipment, airline management systems, and software like Sabre or Amadeus is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure are standout soft skills for this role. These competencies are crucial to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient turnaround of aircraft and smooth airport operations.

What are some common challenges faced by ground operations coordinators, and how can they be managed successfully?

Ground Operations Coordinators frequently encounter challenges such as managing tight turnaround times, coordinating between multiple departments (like baggage handling, fueling, and catering), and responding to last-minute changes in flight schedules. Successfully handling these challenges requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Building good relationships with team members and staying up-to-date with real-time operational updates also greatly contributes to smooth ground operations.

How much do ground operations coordinators make in the US?

Ground operations coordinators in the US typically earn between $40,000 and $60,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and the employer. The role often requires strong organizational skills and knowledge of airport or airline procedures.

Operations Coordinator
ComForCare Home Care Las Vegas West – Veteran-Owned
Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional on-call)
Las Vegas, NV

We are a veteran-owned, non-medical home care agency committed to being the most dependable and compliant provider in the Las Vegas Valley. We operate fully above-board with 100% compliant caregivers and are known for our reliability — when we say our caregivers will be there, they show up. Our mission is to deliver quality care to veterans and seniors while growing the number of veterans and private-pay/Long Term Care Insurance clients we serve.
We’re seeking an experienced Operations Coordinator who can hit the ground running on Day 1 and make an immediate impact. We need a proactive self-starter with real home care office experience in onboarding, recruiting support, compliance, scheduling, caregiver management, and client satisfaction. No hand-holding — if you’re dependable, highly organized, and ready to own operations, this is your opportunity to grow with a mission-driven agency.
What You’ll Do
  • Own caregiver scheduling to ensure full coverage with zero gaps.
  • Lead onboarding and compliance processes (fingerprints, physicals, TB tests, CPR, etc.) to keep us audit-proof.
  • Support recruiting: screen candidates, schedule interviews, and build a strong caregiver pipeline.
  • Manage caregiver performance, communication, and retention proactively.
  • Drive client satisfaction through excellent communication with clients, families, and referral sources.
  • Use Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Calendar) to maintain organized, efficient operations.
  • Contribute to our growth goals — especially expanding veteran services in Las Vegas.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in a home care or senior care office setting (required).
  • Strong track record as a self-starter who is proactive rather than reactive.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • High integrity and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace.
  • Passion for serving veterans and seniors.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening.
We are tired of hiring people who don’t want to work. If you’re a dependable professional who takes initiative and wants to make a real difference, we want to hear from you.
What We Offer
  • Competitive pay with performance-based raises.
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Paid training and professional development.
  • 15% tuition discount through Southern New Hampshire University.
  • Direct deposit, overtime, and holiday pay.
  • A supportive, results-oriented environment where your work directly helps veterans and families.
If you’re ready to grow with a veteran-owned agency known for integrity and dependability, apply today. Tell us in your cover letter why you’re the right fit.
