Job description

Ground Operations - Office Assistant (NFWS)

Department/Position:

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking an Office Assistant to support the mission of Grand Canyon University through the Ground Operations team in the Campus Visitation department.

Position Summary/Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to support Grand Canyon University (GCU) Admissions Representatives, Student Services Counselors, and the Campus Visitation department in keeping an organized and welcoming environment.

Primary responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:

  • Assist at the front desk with greeting students and visitors and providing excellent customer service
  • File, sort and notify recipients of mail deliveries. Deliver items to various departments, if requested.
  • Assist with various administrative and clerical functions.
  • Keep supply closet, break room, conference rooms, and lobby organized and stocked.
  • Assist with enrollment events and on-going office projects as needed.
  • May be asked to work evenings or weekends.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Equipment Used and Responsibility:

  • Computer programs used: Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams). Specific programs have 'on-the-job' training.
  • Copier/Printers.
  • Golf Carts. Must have valid driver's license to operate and a clean driving record.
  • Basic Office equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Strongly prefer candidates available to work on-campus over the Summer months.
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, proactive, self-assured, organized, and dependable.
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
  • Comfortable operating various office machines and greeting visitors.
  • Take pride in work (accuracy is more important than speed).
  • Ability to manage time and be comfortable with multi-tasking.
  • Previous office experience preferred but not necessary.
  • Willing to work 15-20 hours per week.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.

Experience/Education:

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
