What is a grossing assistant?

Grossing Assistants are professionals who support pathologists by preparing and processing tissue specimens in a laboratory setting. Their main responsibility is to assist with the gross examination, which involves describing, measuring, and sectioning surgical specimens for microscopic analysis. They ensure that specimens are accurately labeled and documented, and may also help with maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies.
