Job description

Store Manager: Come join the Diego Dogs Grooming Salon family and work at a place where innovation and teamwork come together to support the most exciting mission in the world!

Position Purpose:

Promote and ensure the efficient, and effective operations of our Grooming Salon. Responsible for executing targeted goals, and daily salon operations to include sales, Pet/Pet Parents experience, staffing management, and guest satisfaction.

Ensures the health, welfare and proper care of all animals. Provides grooming services that align with the Diego Dogs brand promise. Provides training, feedback and coaching for Groomers, bathers and all other employees. Ensures the safety of both employees and pets in our care. This job is composed of a variety of different tasks that may be covered by Diego Dogs operational standards, policies and procedures. This position has continuous contact with the general public at the store and at store-related events, and regular contact and exchange of information with other business partners.

Key Accountabilityโ€™s

The ideal candidate will consistently perform all the following duties.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ensure the safety, health and well-being of animals by following Diego Dogs standards, policies and procedures. Exhibit a high level interest in animal welfare. Follow customer instructions based on their pets needs while in our care. Provides courteous service to all guests and uses INTENT behaviors.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Reviews guest experience surveys & results with management

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Works with salon staff to develop action plans for growth and development of every staff member.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Directly supervises all other Grooming Salon employees.ย 

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assists in recruiting and hiring Grooming Salon staff

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Develops a team focused on building long-term guest relationships.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Identifies and communicates all situations and/or conditions that negatively affect the Grooming Salon to the General Manager.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Supervises daily operations.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Reviews all daily grooming sales and ensures they are accurately recorded.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Orders supplies as necessary for the grooming salon.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Performs customer communication for appointment reminders and properly greets clients upon arrival.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Adheres to and promotes established safety procedures and maintenance of clean, and healthy environment of the salon. ย 

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Interacts professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ensures that the salon is staffed to offer grooming services during all hours of operations.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Oversee proper employee scheduling.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintains daily and weekly records, schedules guest grooming appointments, assists in preparation of bi-weekly work schedule.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Performs activities to maintain a knowledge and understanding of Store Sales, performance and data.ย  Store Manager may be required to coordinate merchandise returns, order equipment parts, coordinate store events, vendor meetings, etc.

Judgment: Make sound decisions regarding everyday issues and problems. Chooses alternatives based on consideration of pros and cons, timing and available resources. Makes timely decisions regarding problems/issues requiring immediate attention.

Focus on Guests: Ensures the accurate understanding of guests needs and making recommendations based on those needs.

Planning and Execution: Holds himself/herself accountable for outcomes of the business. Anticipates and addresses obstacles, redirecting efforts to accelerate the work or improve quality and service.

Communication: Listens carefully and attentively to others opinions and ideas. Communicates information clearly, concisely, and professionally. Provides appropriate level of detail in communications.

Supervisory Responsibility

Directly supervise all Grooming Salon employees. Provide guidance and training to salon staff, interview and test potential applicants for grooming procedures and evaluate skills on other job related tasks. Complete performance evaluations for all salon employees.

Education and Experience

Minimum Education and Work Experience:ย  3-5 year managerial experience. Previous experience in the animal grooming field. Some college level business/management courses is preferred.

Work Environment

Position is indoors, noisy, can be wet and requires bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 50 pounds) and standing for long periods of time.
