Job description

Are you ready to join a well-established Engineering firm in West Palm Beach? PTS Advance is proud to partner with a leading firm specializing in Substation Design and Infrastructure projects in Florida.  My Client is looking for a Senior Physical Substation Engineer to join their team in their in house team. 

Key Responsibilities:

Physical Substation design expertise, covering yard layouts, plans, sections, details, grounding lightning protection, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC/DC power, and associated bills of materials

Prepare calculations for studies and reports
Develop scopes of works, conceptual designs and execution plans 
Preliminary Design and Budgetary Estimate
Checking completed job for adequacy of design and documentation 
Act as Resident Engineer role on projects
Interpret complex plans and specifications to ensure all design requirements are satisfied
Maintain familiarity with appropriate engineering and construction codes 
On-site design and investigation work oversight for construction methods
Training and development of junior engineers

 Qualifications:

B.S. in Electrical Engineering

8-10 years of substation engineering experience (utility/EPC background preferred)

Proficiency in Cape, Aspen Oneliner, CDEGS, and more

Strong understanding and knowledge of industry and national codes pertaining to substation design

Experience with CADD and Microsoft 

Ground grid design experience

PE License (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

Experience with Ground Grid design of substations
