Job Title:
Manager, Grid Strategy & Interconnection
Company:
Prologis
A day in the life
We are seeking an Interconnection Manager to support the growth of Prologis Energy Solutions by advancing energy infrastructure across its real estate platform, with a focus on utility scale battery storage, on-premise generation, and energy solutions supporting hyperscale and edge data centers. This role will lead interconnection strategy and execution across a nationwide portfolio, spanning both front of the meter and behind the meter applications, and requires a balance of strategic insight and hands on execution in complex and capacity constrained markets. The position involves owning the full lifecycle of interconnection including site diligence, queue strategy, application management, and agreement negotiation, while working closely with internal teams across development, M&A, and capital deployment, as well as external stakeholders such as utilities and ISOs. The role will also support the buildout of Prologis's distributed battery portfolio across operating assets and ensure all projects remain in good standing and aligned with commercialization objectives. This individual will demonstrate willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Exercises sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes.
As Prologis continues to scale utility scale storage, on-prem power, distributed generation, and energy-enabled data center infrastructure, this role plays a central part in translating grid access into deployable, monetizable energy solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead interconnection strategy and execution across utility and ISO/RTO markets for utility-scale storage, distributed energy resources, and on-prem power infrastructure. This includes queue positioning, withdrawal risk management, upgrade cost optimization, and analyzing grid constraints and hosting capacity.
  • Serve as the primary internal owner of interconnection queue positions, financial postings, and study outcomes across the portfolio. Interpret and challenge utility and ISO study results, including load flow, short circuit, contingency, stability, and deliverability analyses, to support commercial and investment decisions.
  • Provide technical review and guidance on interconnection applications, studies, deposits, and agreements with utilities and ISOs to ensure continued compliance and schedule certainty. Review transmission study results to assess cost, timing, and reliability impacts.
  • Partner with the Global Head of Utility Strategy and Engagement to support interconnection planning for hyperscale data center co-location, micro and edge data centers, and other energy-intensive uses requiring reliable grid access.
  • Coordinate with commercial, development, and delivery teams to align interconnection timelines with permitting, construction readiness, and customer delivery requirements.
  • Partner with Legal and external counsel on negotiation and execution of interconnection agreements and amendments.
  • Provide clear communication to senior leadership on interconnection risks, dependencies, and schedule impacts.

Building blocks for success
Required:
  • 7+ years of experience in interconnection, grid integration, utility coordination, or energy infrastructure development.
  • Experience evaluating both utility-scale and distributed energy site locations based on power availability and financial due diligence.
  • Prior Interconnection experience in key markets (CAISO, PJM, ERCOT, SPP and MISO): and experience working with Grid operators in respective markets.
  • Strong understanding of utility and ISO interconnection processes and study phases.
  • Prior experience negotiating and executing interconnection agreements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-project portfolios with material financial and schedule risk.
  • Proven success coordinating across internal teams and external utility stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical outcomes into business and delivery impacts.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Energy Systems, or Power Engineering.
  • Experience with battery energy storage, distributed generation, or on-site power solutions.
  • Exposure to data center, hyperscale, transmission development, or high-load customer interconnection requirements.
  • Experience overseeing external consultants and technical service providers.
  • Familiarity with project tracking tools such as Smartsheet, SiteTracker, or similar systems.
  • Working knowledge of power system modeling and study tool
  • Familiarity with FERC interconnection policy, ISO/RTO tariffs, cluster study processes, and network upgrade cost allocation frameworks across major U.S. power markets.

Hiring Salary Range of: $148,800 - $185,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate's location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
