What is a Green Core?

Green Core jobs refer to positions that are directly involved in producing goods or providing services that benefit the environment or conserve natural resources. These roles can be found in industries such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste management, and environmental protection. The main goal of Green Core jobs is to reduce environmental impact, promote sustainability, and support the transition to a greener economy. Examples include solar panel installers, environmental engineers, and recycling coordinators.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Green Core professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Green Core professional, you need a solid understanding of environmental science, sustainability practices, and relevant regulatory frameworks, often supported by a degree in environmental studies or a related field. Familiarity with environmental management systems (EMS), renewable energy technologies, and certifications like LEED or ISO 14001 is typically required. Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills help you collaborate effectively and drive sustainable initiatives. These skills are essential for implementing impactful environmental programs and ensuring organizational compliance with sustainability standards.

About Company:

About Cleaner Than Yours Green Clean LLC

At Cleaner Than Yours Green Clean, we believe a clean space is more than just surfaces — it’s about creating healthier, happier environments for the people who live and work there. Founded with a mission to raise the standard of eco-friendly cleaning in the Virginia Beach area, our company has quickly grown into a trusted name known for quality, reliability, and care.

Our core values are excellence, integrity, sustainability, and service. We use environmentally responsible products and innovative methods to deliver top-tier results, while also caring for the well-being of our staff. We believe in fair pay, safe working conditions, continuous training, and supporting each team member’s professional goals.

Join Cleaner Than Yours and be part of a company that doesn’t just clean spaces — we help transform them. Together, we create cleaner, greener, and better places for our clients and our community.

About the Role:

The Cleaner role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal of various environments, particularly following construction projects. This position focuses on thorough post-construction cleaning to ensure spaces are free from debris, dust, and residues, making them ready for occupancy or further use. The Cleaner may also be responsible for routine janitorial duties, including window cleaning, floor care, and general cleaning tasks that uphold hygiene standards. Attention to safety procedures is paramount, as the role often involves handling commercial chemicals and working in environments that require adherence to strict safety protocols. Ultimately, the Cleaner contributes significantly to creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients, employees, and visitors alike.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in cleaning or a janitorial role
  • Basic knowledge of janitorial duties and floor care techniques.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and effectively.
  • Understanding of and commitment to workplace safety procedures.
  • Physical capability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or training in occupational safety and health standards.
  • Proven experience in post-construction cleaning.
  • Familiarity with environmentally friendly cleaning products and practices.
  • Previous experience in window cleaning with specialized equipment.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive post-construction cleaning, including removal of debris, dust, and residues from all surfaces.
  • Conduct window cleaning to ensure clear and spotless glass surfaces both inside and outside buildings.
  • Carry out janitorial duties such as trash removal, restroom sanitation, and replenishment of supplies.
  • Execute floor care tasks including sweeping, mopping, polishing, and carpet cleaning to maintain floor integrity and appearance.
  • Adhere strictly to safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and meet cleaning schedules efficiently.

Skills:

The required skills such as post-construction cleaning, window cleaning, and janitorial duties are applied daily to ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned and maintained to high standards. Floor care skills are essential for preserving the condition and appearance of various flooring types, requiring knowledge of appropriate cleaning methods and machinery operation. Overall, these skills combine to enable the Cleaner to perform a wide range of tasks that contribute to a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment.
