Position Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various equipment and systems. This position requires excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Essential Functions

  • Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions, including electrical and mechanical systems
  • Coordinate and communicate with supervisors and sales on new installations and servicing of other equipment and systems
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent future issues
  • Communicate with customers to provide updates on service progress and address any concerns or questions
  • Maintain accurate records of service work performed, including parts used and time spent on each job
  • Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and improve overall service quality
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for both employees and customers
  • Maintain adequate inventory on service vehicles and coordinate the ordering of products with the inventory manager
  • Availability to be on-call as needed; shifts and hours may vary to accommodate company needs
  • Assist the delivery department when needed. Must be proficient in operating all pumps and equipment on delivery trucks
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and advancements
  • Provides support to other Cryogenic technicians as directed by the supervisor

  • Perform other duties as required or assigned
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a service technician role, preferably in a related industry
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, CDL B, and Hazmat endorsement
  • The gas industry and cryogenic cylinder maintenance background and knowledge required
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex equipment issues, read wire diagrams, and troubleshoot electric circuits
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and customer expectations
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as some travel to customer sites may be required
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software as needed

Work in various inside and outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards. Have the ability to operate a motor vehicle, machines, and other hand tools and equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, non-exempt, and on-site position. Days and hours of work vary based on shift. Some overtime may be required, but not guaranteed. May be required to work occasional overnight or weekends, as needed.
