Minimum Qualifications Summary
Certification amp; Education
  • Bachelor’s degree REQUIRED
Experience
  • Experience with Military concepts and procedures
  • 4+ years in DoD budget planning and formulation or related budget field
Job Objective
The purpose of this requirement is to provide subject matter expertise through logistics support services, equipment related services, and knowledge-based services in support of NSWG-1
Responsibilities
  • Perform duties in support of NSWG-1's budget and financial management, analysis, and reporting for NSWG-1’s Total Obligation Authority (ToA)
  • Develop spend plans to support budget submissions
  • Monitor budget execution to identify trends and ensure proper use of funds
  • Perform analysis of trends and provide recommendations to meet established obligation targets
  • Compile data from various sources and prepare a variety of recurring and special budget reports completely and submitted within established deadlines
  • Prepare various budget exhibits using prescribed templates. Ensures all supporting documentation provides sufficient evidence to justify budget submissions
  • Analyze and process funding requests ensuring fiscal compliance e.g. proper use of funds, etc. Assigns financial structure in accordance with local business rules
Minimum Job Requirements/Technical Requirements
  • Must possess a valid U.S driver’s license
  • Ability to operate a Personal Computer (PC) with common/standard business software programs. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others, both verbally and in writing
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen who possesses a current and valid U.S. passport, and maintain a valid U.S. passport for the entire period of performance of the contract
  • Physical Requirements: Work is sedentary in nature, but requires walking, climbing of stairs (as found on ships), standing, stooping, and bending will be required. Position requires adequate eyesight for reading, adequate hearing for verbal communication and phone calls, and no debilitating medical conditions should exist that would preclude operating in an austere environment or prevent regular work attendance
  • Ability to get Skill Level 2 Financial Manager in accordance with the DoD Financial Management Certification Program Handbook within 6 months of start.
