JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated operator to join our team. The Ideal candidate will have a strong background in gravel mining/gravel pit operations. Operator preferably will have run and operated a concrete batch plant with full knowledge on installing and running a concrete batch plant. This role requires a hands-on approach, operating various machinery and ensuring safety protocols are followed in gravel pit sites. The operator will play a crucial role in building and maintaining infrastructure while adhering to industry standards. The operator must know how to construct a gravel wash plant from start to finish, be able to deal with MSHA and DEC officials, and fairly regulate and deal with employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate heavy machinery including loaders, bulldozers, and backhoes in pit areas.
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA and OSHA regulations and safety standards at all times.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and execute projects effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and materials handled.
  • Assist in training new operators on equipment operation and safety procedures. 
REQUIREMENTS
  • Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid commercial drivers license.
  • Familiarity with MSHA and OSHA regulations related to gravel mining sites.
  • Proficiency in operating loaders and other heavy machinery. 
  • Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
  • Extensive experience in gravel pit operations is a must.
  • Ability to dig and perform manual labor as required by project demands
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
