Job description

Position Overview:
Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety policies and practice safe work habits at all times.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment issues, including machinery, motors, control panels, and industrial systems.
  • Troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), A/C and D/C drives, HMIs, VFDs, and control systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Set up, align, and adjust equipment for optimal performance and product quality.
  • Utilize maintenance software to plan, schedule, track, and complete work.
  • Maintain equipment to maximize uptime, capacity, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime, especially during overnight/3rd shift operations.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
  • Train and support other maintenance team members on procedures and qualifications.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Work flexible hours
  • Follow all company policies and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with HMIs, VFDs, operator interfaces, and power distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies, including vibration analysis.
  • Experience in a corrugated box plant or paper industry preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation and schematics.
  • Experience using maintenance management software systems.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • PLC programming certification
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Training
