SCOPE:

Heartland Food Products Group, owners of Splenda, Equal, Whole Earth, Pure Via, SlimFast and Java House is looking to add a new Graphics Designer to our team to help us continue to grow our lineup of great tasting products. The role will also work on Private Label packaging to support our retail customers. Heartland is the global leader of low-calorie sweetener brand in the and is loved and enjoyed by millions of people every day. This is a unique opportunity to put your mark on our rapidly growing business by elevating how the brands are presented to our consumers.

This is on-site onlyin our Carmel, Indiana Clay Terrace office.

We’re looking for a talented and qualified Graphic Designer with at least 3 years of professional experience to join our design team. The Graphic Designer will have responsibility for developing and modifying packaging, digital assets, social media images, collateral, point-of-purchase, and sales materials for the Branded and Private Label products for the company.

Our packaging designs receive broad exposure as millions of people purchasing and engage with the Splenda brand every year. You will be joining a team of experienced designers and expected to bring new, creative approaches, while also having the opportunity to learn from and exchange ideas with very talented teammates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create graphics and digital assets for website, amazon, banner, and social media placements, leveraging digital design best-practices
  • Create packaging graphics, from initial concepts through print-ready file
  • Design and prepare print-ready files for consumers, health care professionals, sales presentations, in-store point-of-purchase, and other placements.
  • Ability to present to and work with internal “clients”
  • Gather and work within technical specifications for each project
  • Translate business goals, key messages, and other creative brief elements into compelling visual solutions
  • Bring modern, fresh approaches to your designs to ensure they enhance the way our brands are perceived in the market, reinforcing our category leadership position
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong proficiency with Mac versions of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat.
  • Collaborative mindset, working closely with brand teams.
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a drive to learn and grow within a fast-paced working environment.
  • Proven ability to execute visually inspiring solutions to creative challenges.
  • Experience creating a variety of print materials, including packaging.
  • Understanding of printing processes, ideally including Flexo, on various substrates.
  • Experience in page layout and multiple print processes.
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines
  • Ability to track projects to ensure on time delivery of graphic assets.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Visual Communication Design, Graphic Design) or equivalent work experience focused on graphics design
  • Adobe Creative Suite: 3+ years of experience
  • Retail Packaging Design Experience strongly preferred
  • Collateral Development or Point of Purchase material design experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and interact with computers, telephone and other electronic media
  • Must possess visual acuity to document company records
  • Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend
