FloSports is the leading digital platform for underserved sports, combining live and on-demand streaming, original programming, data, and technology to help sports grow their audiences and build sustainable businesses, from youth to professional levels. By bringing thousands of events and communities onto one platform, Flo creates scale where none previously existed, connecting passionate fans with the sports they love while giving athletes, organizers, and rights holders the tools to reach and engage a global audience.
Flo streams more than 50,000 live events annually across sports, including motorsports, wrestling, hockey, track & field, cheer, jiu-jitsu, NCAA Division II and III athletics, and more. We're looking for people who are passionate about sports, embody accountability, collaboration, curiosity, positivity, grit, and excellence, and are motivated to help grow and elevate the communities we serve.
THE ROLE:
  • Project-based work with specific goals that can be added to your portfolio.
  • Holistic understanding of how storytelling and video drives success in a fast-paced, performance-driven content organization
  • Have a dedicated supervisor/mentor to guide and challenge you throughout the duration of the program.
  • Learn the ins and outs of an OTT sports media company.
  • This internship is available from late August through December.

  • Seeking a minimum availability of 25-30 hrs/week.
  • This is a paid internship, offering $18/hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create engaging cross-country and track and field content through written and video storytelling
  • Interview top-level athletes from across all levels of the sport, primarily at the professional level
  • Create and edit built-for-social videos across our network channels, including Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok
  • Generate rankings content using the MileSplit database
  • Recap and preview the biggest cross country and track & field events of the week
  • Make use of editorial best practices for tagging, search engine optimization, and crosslinking
  • Work collaboratively to support the goals of the FloTrack and MileSplit content teams
  • Must be available from May to September

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Must have a demonstrated subject matter expertise in cross country and track & field
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro or similar editing software, with the ability to edit reels and a desire to edit longer form content.
  • Experience in journalism and an understanding of AP style
  • Experience creating engaging content that speaks authentically to a passionate audience
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing, proofreading, and editing
  • An understanding of SEO best practices
  • Comfortable using Adobe Premiere, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop
  • Strong listening and communication skills
  • Excellent research, organizational, and time management skills;
  • Experience meeting deadlines in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy
  • Ability to take and implement creative notes and feedback
