ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

TURN GRAPHIC DESIGN SKILLS INTO REAL MARKETING EXPERIENCE

United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County is looking for a creative and reliable college student to join our marketing team as a Graphic Design Intern. This role is a great fit for someone interested in brand, print and graphic design, and marketing.


You’ll help create visual content, assist with layout design and prepare files for print and digital media. You’ll help us maintain strong brand standards and learn how a marketing team elevates stories to inspire action. This is hands-on experience you can add to your resume and portfolio while supporting work that matters in San Antonio.


WHAT YOU WILL LEARN & EXPERIENCE

  • Design and format digital and print marketing materials, including flyers, invitations, brochures, event graphics, website graphics and other marketing collateral.
  • Apply UWSA brand guidelines to produce polished, consistent visual work
  • Assist in visual concept development for themed events
  • Support orders of promotional swag by assisting with quotes, preparing art and reviewing vendor proofs
  • Join brainstorming sessions for new and current program initiatives to help translate initiative goals into engaging marketing collateral or campaigns
  • Utilize project management software to manage project intake and progress
  • Opportunity to capture and edit photos at events for use in marketing collateral
  • Take on other marketing projects that help you learn, grow and contribute to the team


What You’ll Need

  • Current college student
  • Interest in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Design, Journalism, Digital Media or a related field
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience or curiosity and willingness to learn Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Lightroom
  • Reliable transportation for occasional local events, meetings or training

  • Typical work hours fall Monday through Friday between 8:15 am and 4:45 pm, with occasional evening or weekend support for events
