Job description

About the Role

FES is seeking a Senior DDC Engineer / Programmer with deep technical expertise in building automation and control systems. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines advanced programming, field commissioning, and project delivery with mentoring and client-facing responsibilities.

You’ll lead complex projects, provide technical direction to technicians, and collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and service teams to deliver reliable, high-performance control solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Engineering Department to review and advise on control drawings and project submittals.
  • Program, integrate, and commission DDC systems and field devices across multiple platforms.
  • Ensure accurate operation of all building control sequences, alarms, trends, and archives.
  • Develop and implement custom graphics for end-user interfaces.
  • Train and mentor DDC technicians and provide system training for clients.
  • Integrate BAS with third-party building systems (e.g., chillers, generators, lighting).
  • Troubleshoot complex system and network issues (BACnet IP, MS/TP, LAN/WAN).
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, sequences of operation, and specifications.
  • Prepare and deliver as-built documentation and support project turnover.
  • Support both on-site commissioning and remote diagnostics as needed.
