Professionals in this field are responsible for ensuring that graphics are installed accurately, smoothly, and securely, often working with materials like vinyl and adhesives. These jobs may include site preparation, measurement, and working both indoors and outdoors. Attention to detail and knowledge of installation techniques are crucial for a successful outcome.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a graphic installer?

To thrive as a Graphic Installer, you need strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and experience with large-format graphics, often backed by a high school diploma or relevant technical training. Familiarity with tools like vinyl cutters, laminators, heat guns, and software for print preparation is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team help set individuals apart in this role. Job description

Description:

Your designs won't just live on screens — they'll be fabricated at massive scale and installed in some of the most memorable spaces in the country.

At Culton Companies, our Environmental Graphics Designer bridges the gap between concept and physical reality — producing high-impact 2D artwork that feeds directly into our 3D design process and ultimately into the real world. If you have strong conceptual chops, love working fast, and want to see your work built at scale, this is your role.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Culton Companies designs and builds award-winning trade show exhibits, branded commercial interiors, and museum environments for clients all over the country — and the environmental graphics our designers create are what make those spaces come alive. We're looking for an Environmental Graphics Designer to join our creative team supporting both ExpoDisplays and Method-1.

You'll work at the intersection of concept and production — quickly developing high-quality 2D conceptual artwork that feeds directly into our 3D design renderings, and then carrying that work through to production-ready files. The scale is real: we're talking large-format graphics for physical spaces, not social media assets. Your work gets built, shipped, and installed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Rapidly produce high-quality conceptual 2D graphic artwork for use in 3D design renderings by our Design team
  • Design and prepare production-ready large-format graphic files for custom trade show exhibits and branded interior environments
  • Support clients in understanding and defining the graphical requirements of their projects
  • Collaborate closely with Design and Sales staff to ensure graphic solutions align with project vision and brand standards
  • Manage multiple active projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Contribute creative thinking to projects that incorporate AR/VR, digital interactives, and other emerging display technologies
  • Maintain a consistent, high standard of visual quality and conceptual creativity across all deliverables

WHAT YOU BRING

Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of professional graphic design experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite — Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign are essential
  • Hands-on experience designing for large-format print graphics
  • Ability to work quickly and confidently at the conceptual stage — you can generate strong ideas fast
  • Strong visual communication skills with a clear, persuasive design voice
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining quality
  • A standout digital portfolio showcasing impressive conceptual and production work — required for consideration

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience with AR/VR, interactive content, or digital display solutions
  • Background designing for physical environments — exhibits, museums, retail, or branded spaces
  • Exposure to 3D design workflows and understanding how 2D graphics translate into dimensional spaces

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

  • Full-time, salaried position — Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (or thereabouts)
  • Competitive salary based on experience and potential
  • Based at our Trussville, Alabama headquarters facility

THE PERKS

We take care of the people who bring the creative vision:

Health, Dental & Vision

401K Retirement Plan

Paid Parental Leave

PTO + 7 Paid Holidays

? AFLAC & Liberty National

FSA Plan

Online Payroll Access
