Job Summary/Basic Function
The Student Graphic Designer supports Indiana State University's Office of University Marketing and Communications by creating compelling visual content that enhances the University's brand and engages prospective students, current students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the broader community. Working collaboratively with marketing, communications, social media, and web teams, this position assists in the design and production of digital and print materials for a variety of university initiatives, campaigns, and events. The Student Graphic Designer will gain valuable hands-on experience in graphic design, branding, digital communications, and project management while contributing to real-world marketing efforts in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Basic understanding of typography, layout, and color theory
  • Portfolio demonstrating design work (academic or professional)

  • Assist in the creation of print materials such as posters, flyers, and event signage
  • Develop visual assets for Indiana State University marketing campaigns and initiatives
  • Support website updates and visual content in WordPress
  • Assist in building and designing email communications using Emma
  • Create or assist with motion graphics and simple animations (highly desirable)
  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, and social media teams on creative projects
  • Attend priority events when needed to capture or create design assets
  • Pitch creative ideas and contribute to campaign development
  • Maintain consistency with Indiana State University brand standards
  • Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Other duties as assigned
