Public Strategies (PS) is a nationally respected consulting, project management, and marketing firm based in Oklahoma City. Position Summary

Under the guidance of the Senior Manager of Design, we are seeking an experienced Graphic Designer that creates graphics to meet specific project or promotional needs for Public Strategies and its clients. Projects may run the gamut of marketing tactics, from the web and social media to brochures and course curriculum to billboards and print advertising. The Graphic Designer must be able to create and/or follow branding guidelines to design visually compelling pieces that communicate concepts clearly.

The Graphic Designer is a vital member of a culturally and professionally diverse team committed to helping systems, organizations, and individuals reach their full potential while maximizing their impact on the public good. The Graphic Designer designs or creates graphics to meet specific project or promotional needs and may use a variety of mediums to achieve the desired effects for Public Strategies and its clients in collaboration with the Senior Manager of Design.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work with Senior Manager of Design, other designers, project managers and clients to produce designs and edit designs after feedback
  • Develop and design illustrations, multi-page layouts, posters, infographics, logos
  • Refine images, fonts and layouts using graphic design software
  • Apply typography techniques
  • Generate ideas that portray concepts and advertise products/services
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and tools
  • Package and prepare final layouts for print vendors
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Training

  • Bachelor's degree, required
  • Will consider 4+ years work experience in lieu of degree

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience working in a marketing and communication capacity

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Portfolio of at least ten samples of original graphic design work
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, evenings, and some weekends, as needed
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive, detail-driven environment
  • Excellent organizational, communication and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and clients
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
