Position Title: KCAD FlexLab Assistant (Student Position)   Location: Grand Rapids, MI   Department:

Kendall College of Art and Design

  Advertised Salary: $13.73- $13.99   Summary of Position: FlexLab student employees work directly with the Dow Center FlexLab Coordinator. Students will learn new skills and technologies on the job to facilitate the successful output of digital fabrication/design projects with the KCAD/FSU community. Weekly schedule will be decided based on the student's availability, the FlexLab's staffing needs, and open lab hours. Hours are somewhat flexible and work around the student's course schedule as it changes from semester to semester.   Position Requirements: *Must have retail or service industry experience
*Experience and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud
*A willingness to learn on the job
*Experience with or interest to learn the use of 2D and 3D input and output devices   Essential Duties/Responsibilities: *Communicate effectively with the Coordinator and the KCAD/FSU Campus at large
*Track material and technology usage and supply prompt reporting
*Cash handling via cash, check, credit card
*Learn and teach FlexLab processes to FlexLab users
*Operate equipment including wide format inkjet printers, 3D scanners, 3D printers, vinyl cutters, and LASER cutters/engravers
*Learn and understand the pros and cons of each process
*Accurately record and calculate billing and usage data
