Job description

Join Us at The Grand Traverse County Road Commission in beautiful Traverse City, Michigan!

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Traverse City-based engineering team. We are looking for someone who is civic-minded, wants to make a difference in our community, and wants to be part of our mission to maintain a safe & efficient road system.

GTCRC offers a professional, respectful workplace and the opportunity to work and learn with a small team of great employees. Ideally, we would like to find an experienced civil engineer who not only enjoys the design phase of construction but also enjoys being out on job sites, working with contractors and the crew. The project engineer will assist in all phases of project delivery, including design, bidding, construction, and closeout. 

Work is within Grand Traverse County, with limited travel outside of the county for education and conferences.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or the equivalent. Previous experience in road design and/or road construction is required. This role requires that the individual either possess a PE (Professional Engineer) license in Michigan and/or be able to obtain one within 1 year of hire.
