PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Commodity Market Exposure: Learn key aspects of grain merchandising, commodity markets, and feed ingredient procurement while developing an understanding of how purchasing decisions impact business performance.
  • Purchasing & Supplier Support: Assist the buying team with ingredient and corn procurement activities while gaining exposure to supplier relationships, sourcing strategies, and customer engagement.
  • Logistics & Supply Chain Experience: Gain exposure to transportation, logistics, and supply chain processes that support the movement of grain and feed ingredients across the business.
  • Market Analysis & Business Projects: Analyze purchasing and commodity market data, identify trends, and contribute to projects that support departmental goals and business decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Support projects focused on procurement process improvements, freight spread analysis, purchasing evaluations, systems optimization, and identifying new grain and feed ingredient sourcing opportunities.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in agricultural commodity markets, grain merchandising, and supply chain operations.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and computer skills.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous coursework, internship experience, or involvement related to agriculture, commodities, grain marketing, or supply chain is preferred.
